Course Overview
Students registered for this further education certificate will learn essential administrative duties related to human resources management and practices. Students will learn how to implement procedures and systems that relate to human resources planning, recruitment and selection, compensation and employee relations. Following the completion of this course successful students will understand how to advise and respond to human resource related queries in an organisation. The course is NQF aligned and SABPP accredited and it is comprised of 6 modules including:
1. Fundamental Communication1
2. Fundamental Communication 2
3. Fundamental Numeracy
4. The Business Environment
5. Introduction to HR Management
6. Employee Wellness
Students will learn the fundamental concepts of Business Communication and Business Numeracy which are vital to the business environment. The course also covers basic business concepts and the different legal contracts within business. In modules 4, 5 and 6 the student learns key Human Resources concepts and various aspects that a HR Manager has to know and understand. These include the understanding of employment relations, recruitment, inductions and management of teams. The final module focuses on the importance of employee wellness in the workplace

Study PLUS Course Material
Academy of York students receive continuous information and support, over and above the prescribed course material, to assist students through their studies, in order for students to competently complete their studies. Students will have a choice of completing this qualification in either 14 or 24 months.
Assessment and Award
This qualification will be assessed by means of a Summative Assessment assignment and there are no exams. A mark of 65% is required to pass this SABPP accredited and NQF aligned short course
