Course Overview

This SABPP Accredited National Diploma will aim to equip participants to be competent conciliators and arbitrators,
and to participate effectively in the conciliation and arbitration hearing. It will also empower participants to engage in a
knowledgeable and skilful manner more broadly within the labour relations arena. This course will provide participants
with an effective overview of labour law in South Africa. After completion of this course, successful students will
understand the SA legal framework including the different legislation and codes of good practice.

This NQF-aligned and SABPP accredited course consists of 8 modules including:
1. Communication
2. SA Legal Framework
3. Labour Relations Statutes
4. Labour Dispute Forums
5. Statutory Considerations
6. Litigation
7. Conciliations & Arbitrations
8. Awards & CCMA Processes

Study period: up to 36 months   

Academy of York students will receive ongoing  support, over in addition to the prescribed course material, to assist students achieve in their studies. Students will have 36 months to complete this course.

Assessment and Award

This qualification will be assessed by means of 8 Summative Assessments and one Final Integrated Summative
Assessment (FISA). All 8 Summative Assessments will have to be marked as competent before the student may
attempt the FISA. A mark of 65% is required before the National Diploma can be awarded.
