Course Overview

Occupational Skills Programme Certificate: Learning and Development Facilitator (SP-220319, NQF level 5, 36 credits)

This programme aims to provide students with the critical skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in the field of skills development. As a skills development facilitator, you will be instrumental in improving the learning and development environment across various occupational settings. A Learning and Development Facilitator is responsible for planning, selecting, and adapting learning resources to effectively deliver learning interventions within an occupational context. This comprehensive course equips students to proficiently support and guide learners in reaching their professional objectives. Credits achieved in this course are recognised towards the Occupational Certificate: Training and Development Practitioner (SAQA ID 101321, NQF level 5, 190 credits).

• The statutory learning and development environment
• Facilitation of learning in occupational contexts
• Facilitate different methodologies, training styles and techniques within an occupational learning context
• Facilitate an occupational learning session

Study period: up to 6 months   

Work Experience

Access to a training and development environment will assist the student to complete the course work required. A formal work placement is not a requirement for this programme.

Assessment and Award

Students will complete an assignment for each of the knowledge and practical modules. For work experience modules students are required to submit the completed Statement of Work Experience with any additional evidence required. Students who have successfully completed the knowledge, practical and work experience requirement of the qualification will be issued with a statement of results which provides entry to the final examination. The final examination or Final Integrated Supervised Assessment (FISA) is administered by Academy of York.

Students who have successfully completed the FISA will be awarded the Occupational Skills Programme Certificate: Learning and Development Facilitator (SP-220319, NQF level 5, 36 credits), issued by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO).

Entry Requirements

An NQF Level 4 qualification with Communication.
