Course Description:

This National Diploma is accredited by FASSET SETA and assessed through ICB (Institute of Certified Bookkeepers). You will learn how to compile annual financial statements, sign off documents for close corporations (if you register with SAIBA), work closely with a Chartered Certified Accountant and Registered Auditor. You will also have a thorough knowledge of accounting theory, corporate strategy and regulatory frameworks. This programme will provide the skills required to be an Accounting Technician or a Certified Tax Technician.

Students taking this course do not require prior knowledge of accounting.
Assessments
Using the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) programme material, 30% of your final mark is derived from the activities you complete during your distance learning course. Upon registering for your assessment, you will receive a Portfolio of Evidence (POE) folder, in which must be included all tests and assignments for each module. Each module also requires a written exam, contributing 70% to your final mark. This exam, along with your POE, must be submitted to ICB. Assessment Centres are available throughout South Africa; visit www.icb.org to find the nearest exam venue. You will need to register as a Student Member with the ICB and enroll for the exam before the prescribed closing dates published by ICB.
