Students taking this course do not require prior knowledge of accounting.
Assessments
Using the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) programme material, 30% of your final mark is derived from the activities you complete during your distance learning course. Upon registering for your assessment, you will receive a Portfolio of Evidence (POE) folder, in which must be included all tests and assignments for each module. Each module also requires a written exam, contributing 70% to your final mark. This exam, along with your POE, must be submitted to ICB. Assessment Centres are available throughout South Africa; visit www.icb.org to find the nearest exam venue.
You will need to register as a Student Member with the ICB and enroll for the exam before the prescribed closing dates published by ICB. Please note ICB registration and assessment fees are not included in your course fees and must be paid directly to ICB. Please go to http://www.icb.org.za/downloads.html for current fees.

Awards
Upon successful completion of the programme, students will be awarded the National Certificate: Bookkeeping (SAQA ID 58375, NQF Level 3, 120 credits) by the Financial and Accounting Services SETA (FASSET)
