You will also be able to understand the intricate details workings of tax for both individuals and companies. Students taking this course do not require prior knowledge of accounting.
Assessments
Using the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) programme material, 30% of your final mark is derived from the activities you complete during your distance learning course. Upon registering for your assessment, you will receive a Portfolio of Evidence (POE) folder, in which must be included all tests and assignments for each module. Each module also requires a written exam, contributing 70% to your final mark. This exam, along with your POE, must be submitted to ICB. Assessment Centres are available throughout South Africa; visit www.icb.org to find the nearest exam venue. You will need to register as a Student Member with the ICB and enroll for the exam before the prescribed closing dates published by ICB. Upon successful completion of the programme, students will be awarded the National Diploma: Tehnical Financial Accounting (SAQA ID 36213, NQF Level 5, 251 credits) by the Financial and Accounting Services SETA (FASSET).
